Where We Started
Thornell Corporation was founded in 1981 through research conducted at Cornell University on a unique product that would effectively eliminate odor. The research requirements were that the formula had to be effective for use on any surface and safe when used around pets and people. They also needed to be formulated so that their effectiveness would not lessen when used in conjunction with detergents and disinfectants. These products are now enjoyed by veterinarians throughout North America, where Thornell is the largest supplier of odor-elimination products to this demanding profession.
Creation of ODORCIDE®
In 1995 Thornell Corporation expanded its product offering to include an extremely effective product for professional carpet cleaners, building contractors, restoration professionals and independent janitorial operations called ODORCIDE® 210. This commercial product offers the same contact chemistry that is used in veterinary products and is available exclusively through professional distributors serving this industry.
Where We Are Today
Thornell is now ODORCIDE®, a family-owned business located in Smithville, Missouri, where we manufacture what we sell. Unlike many other companies, Thornell Corporation only makes odorcides. We have dedicated ourselves to providing the answer to your odor problems with products you can use and recommend with complete confidence.

Interesting facts: Generally, if I’m not working, I’m mowing. Prefer work. I enjoy watching the Royals, the Chiefs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Or a good western movie. My wife and I try not to miss any of the grandkids’ events. They grow up too fast.

Interesting facts: Father of 4 boys. I love watching sports, traveling with my family and relaxing with my dog Dexter.

Interesting facts: I’ve shown horses since I was 7 years old and traveled all over the United States doing so. I’ve been named World Champion and most recently accumulated points throughout the year to be Reserve Champion in one of my events. When I’m not showing, I enjoy spending time with family and watching my daughter swim, do gymnastics and karate and of course, ride and show horses.

Interesting facts: Enjoy traveling: family road-trips and trips on our Goldwing. Enjoy baking and decorating cakes. I also sing. I have sung in a couple of bands and am on a few Christmas CDs. Mostly I value my time as Mom to 6, Mee-Maw to 5 (soon to be 6) and Stepmom to 3. Also Mom to 1 fur-baby of 12 years: an American Eskimo named Jax.

Interesting facts: An avid veggie and fruit gardener who frequents Missouri’s creeks and rivers for kayaking, hiking and swimming. I have two dogs (Luna and Ollie), two cats (Diesel and Axle) and a bearded dragon named Gizzy.

Interesting facts: Favorite thing to do is hang out with family. Love St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Star Wars and Star Trek. Have Type 1 Diabetes and have taken around 40K shots since the age of 7.

Interesting facts: Being outside in the sunshine near the lake is my happy place. I love to paddle board, jet ski and boat. I enjoy spending time with my family, and I have two spoiled cats!
